Funded PhD position on higher education studies at the Centre for Organizational Research
The Centre for Organizational Research at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Lugano invites applications for a PhD position in the area of higher education studies. The successful candidate will work in the Area of Management and Performance of Research and Higher Education Institutions led by Dr. Benedetto Lepori; he/she will work in the European project on Transforming Universities in Europe supported by the European Science Foundation through the Swiss National Science Foundation. Her work will especially focus on procedures for internal allocation of budget of higher education institutions and their impact on their strategy.
The CORE offers an attractive working environment due to its strong
competences in organizational studies, as well as its portfolio of projects and excellent international connections in the field in the field of organizational research and higher education studies.

Required competences include:
• a master degree (or equivalent) in economics, social or economics statistics or social sciences with a quantitative focus.
• good knowledge of qualitative methods (case studies, interviews).
• excellent knowledge of English.

The position will be for a three-year period under usual contractual conditions of the University of Lugano (Swiss National Science Foundation norm for PhD students).
